DISHA is a condensed road safety awareness program, structured for working executives, schools/colleges or special groups like families of corporate personnel who cannot invest sufficient time in a detailed SURAKSHA course. However, they would still like to imbibe the benefits of road safety training, defensive driving skills and respect for the rights of other road users.

Suraksha the word itself implies safety.It is a set of specialized training courses for licensed drivers and intends to develop and inculcate the habit of safe driving amongst them. Suraksha Auto rickshaws, commonly known as ‘three-wheelers’, are the life line of local transport and for point to point transport across the country in all kinds of road conditions and terrains transporting locals, foreigners, or freight. Most three wheelers are available as hired vehicles with few being used to carry goods and as private vehicles.

JAGRITI is usually a half-day course that consists of class-room sessions. It may be supplemented with an additional driving assessment, if required.

Night Driving
Driving at night increases the risk of accidents and fatalities many folds. An estimated 70% of casualties at night are pedestrians and two wheeler riders. The lack of proper lighting system in Indian roads adds to the woes of drivers driving at night, who then become dependent on just the vehicle lighting system for visibility. A lot of drivers do not understand the difference in skills when it requires to night driving and are oblivious to the dangers that lurk on the roads.

The increasing intolerance level of drivers towards other road users complimented handsomely by stress of leading a hectic time bound life leads often to a situation where the saying “might is right” gets practically tested in the city roads. Every now and then at every nook and corner weget to see people hurling abuses at fellow road users and even don’t hesitate to get into physical scuffle to the extent that it sometimes leads to deaths.
